The UCL Institute of Archaeology is the largest and most diverse department of archaeology in the UK. Our taught graduate degrees are exceptionally varied, offering advanced teaching and training in virtually every aspect of modern archaeology and its applications. There is a thriving community of students undertaking supervised research over a vast array of topics. We are international in outlook and membership, with students and staff from over 40 countries, and involvement in field research projects around the globe.

Competitive application for AHRC awards for MPhil/PhD study and most of the institute’s Master’s degrees may be made via the institute. A small number of grants in support of Master’s students are also available through the department (the Institute of Archaeology Master’s Awards).
